Q: What purpose does this website serve?
A: This website was designed as an effort to reduce the spread of deadly sexually transmitted diseases. By increasing transparency in dating, we can reduce the amount of new infections in all communities by allowing people to display, through a readily-available, independent third party, that they have recently tested negative for HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. The three P's for this website are to:

  1. Promote: awareness of these deadly diseases and make getting tested hip in the dating community. We want to promote people to "Be responsible and to be safe."
  2. Prevent the spread of deadly STD's HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. The truth is the more people who get infected, the fewer resources there are to treat and cure the people who are already infected.
  3. Provide an effective and realistic way to ask a perspective date about their status, reduce the spread of disease economically, and help provide funds for the ultimate goal which is a cure, so that this website may one day soon be obsolete.

Q: Can I see who's on the site?
A: Members and their guests can pull up their profile only; and on just about any medium to include computers, cell phones and other internet capable devices around the world. No one is allowed to "surf" or browse the database of members, because all memberships are considered confidential.
Iamnegative.com does allow members to change their casual code to allow select persons of the member's choice to validate their affiliation and membership with our site. Although we give two codes, we suggest that members who share their casual code change it with in 24hrs to prevent identity theft. Suspected fraudulent activity with a member's profile may result in dismissal of service.

Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: It currently costs $10.00 USD for 8-10 weeks or just 11 cents a day. We want to make this affordable for anyone who wants to be responsible and safe. We recommend getting tested every eight (8) weeks, if you want to remain on the service. There is a 14 day grace period to be retested after which your profile is removed from the service, giving members a total of 10 weeks or 70 days of service.

Q: Why test so often?
A: A lot can happen in 70 days. If we are going to provide a service that actually has a positive impact on public health, we must be realistic and set firm standards to ensure the validity of our service and protect our members. Although know one knows exactly how long it takes for a new infection to make an individual able to spread disease, we have deduced that 8-10 weeks is as long as we can go before our service starts to lose its legitimacy or effectiveness.
Monthly testing is available for an additional $10 per month (you must pay online); just print out multiple result forms (up to 5) when you get your initial application notarized. Take a release form to the testing facility each time you go. The release form photo must be identical to the photo on file, so get enough passport-quality photos (1 per release form) printed during your initial application process.

Q: Do you reveal whose test results are Positive?
A: No we do not. Iamnegative.com only accepts and posts Negative results on the website concerning deadly STDs, primarily HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis. We have written instructions on the medical release form for the laboratories to withhold sending any results that are positive, in order to protect the confidentiality of persons who do test positive. As far as we are concerned, the applicant might not have gotten tested, so if we don't get a result we don't assume anything.

Q: When should I not consider being tested for this website?
A: There are a lot of reasons to be tested but these are some of the reasons in our opinion you should not be test for our site.
  • If you already know your status will prevent you from being on this website.
  • If you are not dating or do not planning on dating in the near future (8weeks).
  • If you are in a monogamous relationship and both statuses are known are just some of the reasons to not be tested. Remember the application fee is non refundable, because all applications are processed like college applications by actual people (a select group).
Q: How do I get on the website fast?
A: If you pay online, we receive some of your information almost instantly and you also get a chance to reserve your screen name. If you mail in your payment, you will have to wait until we extend membership to choose your screen name. We do not accept personal checks or C.O.D's through the mail, only money orders and teller's checks from banks.

Most importantly, make sure your application is filled out accurately and completely before you mail it in, along with the appropriate fee. Make sure you understand and agree to all the language on the forms and under the LEGAL icon before applying. Quick start instructions are located at the end of the Application and Medical Release forms under the FORMS icon.
